What goes on at Theory Underground?
Theory Underground has three kinds of events: Weekly, Monthly, and Once-In-A-Lifetime. Though the publication opportunities, conferences, tour coming-to-a-city-near-you events are all theory/philosophy related, weekly and monthly events are founded upon practices that might, at first, seem less directly related to theory and philosophy. But appearances are deceiving. These events are dedicated to making us into the kind of thinkers we want to become: Multilingual theorists who can write and speak to diverse audiences via reference to high and vulgar forms of art and literature in powerful and incisive ways.

Weekly TU events:
Mondays at 2 PM Pacific / 5 PM Eastern / 23:00 CET (floating time)
Capital Mondays (C-M-C^) is a weekly podcast at Theory Underground, in which Dave and Nance read various Capital related works, including Das Kapital itself. Sometimes they have guests or seminar participants on for presentations or interviews. Starting in March, guest lecturer Sahil Kumar gives an introductory lecture to Das Kapital on the first Monday of every month, and all participants get to join for a discussion on the last Monday of the month!

Tuesdays at 10:15 AM Pacific / 1:15 AM Eastern / 18:15 GMT / 19:15 CET
Swoletariat Health and Fitness, where we are joined weekly by Eamon Radecki of Radecki Fitness. This IRL personal trainer and fellow traveler is also a Marxist YouTuber. He is the only fitness coach in the world who has been thinking about structural stultification of timenergy in the working class and how people can, with basically no time or energy, still hack our way to good-enough health and fitness, without becoming gym rats and sacrificing our pursuit of theory! In these weekly sessions we do a 40 minute check-in, talking about our successes and new goals.

Wednesdays at 12 PM Pacific / 3 PM Eastern / 20:00 GMT / 21:00 CET
Club de Español, where we are joined weekly by Carl Eugene Stroud, who is a professional language tutor and anarchist. Stroud specializes in underground adult education work and is a lifelong learner whose militancy is almost entirely focused on equipping people with the tools to practice multilingualism.

Thursdays at 7 AM Pacific / 10 AM Eastern / 15:00 GMT / 16:00 CET (Join link**)
Club Français, where we are joined by Terence Blake of the blog and YT channel Agent Swarm. Mr. Blake has been living in France and speaking/writing French for 40 years, with a special focus on French theory. He even took classes from Deleuze and Foucault back in the day (as a student even got a personal letter of recommendation from none other than Lyotard!), and now he translates French theory on his channel!

Monthly TU Events:

Critical Media Theory (CMT) on the 2nd Sunday of every month 9:00 AM Pacific / 12:00 PM Eastern / 18:00 CET (part of TU BASE CAMP)
Critical Media Theory is about what we all have in common: Devices that mediate our sensory experience, filter existence, and structure our habits. The McKerracher-Snelgrove synthesis (Dave and Ann) bring a unique teaching approach that combines popular bestsellers with thinkers such as Marx, McLuhan, Heidegger, Arendt, Baudrillard, Lacan, Ellul, Virilio, Steigler, and so many more!
Critical Doxology and Timenergy (CDT) on the 4th Sunday of every month 9:00 PM Pacific / 12:00 PM Eastern / 18:00 CET (part of TU BASE CAMP)

Critical Doxology and Timenergy is about what we all lack: Timenergy, i.e. large, energy-infused, and reliably repeatable blocks of time throughout the week. “Critical doxology” is the study of self-help and business-success literature; such literature is taught in a critically sympathetic way, from the standpoint of timenergy theory. The McKerracher-Snelgrove synthesis (Dave and Ann) brings a unique teaching approach that combines popular bestsellers with thinkers such as Marx, Heidegger, Lacan, Levinas, Adorno, Aristotle, Kant, Bergson, Arendt, and so many more!

TU Film Club, every LAST Thursday of the month at 4:15 PM Pacific / 7:15 PM Eastern / 23:15 CET (Join link**)
