We're from the US and we've been living in Ecuador since 2017 so it's natural and acceptable for us to compare these two countries to others that we visit. Including Portugal.

Ecuador is NOT a 3rd world country. That's an outdated term that no longer applies to ANY country. It's a developing country with a lot of potential.
Portugal may be a developed country, but it reminded us a lot more of Ecuador than we expected, which makes this comparison video even more relevant.
