Malahide man Aengus Linehan comes home for a three week holiday with the family from the US where he's been working for 23 years - now in data management. IT was always a strong skills export from Ireland, but it's good to see folk returning home to visit the places that shaped their youthful perceptions, and a good chance for me to talk to them! Thanks for the chat, Aengus, and hope to see you on that beach in a year from now.
Portmarnock is a little gem on the East Coast between Dublin City and Malahide. You can take the coast road, skirting Dublin Bay from the city OR you can take the Tunnel onto the motorway North and take an exit for Malahide then head South on the coast road from that seaside town. There's a good atmosphere in Portmarnock... and that beach! An epic sweep of sand and dunes, birds and blue sea, emerald green islands lining the horizon, and the daily swimmers running into the cresting waves all year round.
