Ok, so I will present my way of looking for planetary alignment glitch, the newly found glitch in Portal 1 based off experiments from UncraftedName and personal experiments.

Step 1: Find a map that has a camera and a portalable surface above it. Exclude maps whose ceiling is too high from the camera. In UncraftedName's examples, 13 and 16 works and in this example 02 works too. You can verify it by trying to stand on the camera like you would do for the lochness in 19.

Step 2: Place the orange portal as close of the ground as possible (to improve reproductibility, it's not that important)

Step 3: Calculate Chell's height on the floor. In this example, the floor is at 64.03 Hammer Units in the cl_showpos that we can approximate to 64 (it is not THAT precise).

Step 4: Compute that number minus 45: 64-45 = 24.

Remark 1: The goal is now to setup so that when you come out of the blue portal, your height (z-coordinate of the player) is that number (24).

Step 5: Place yourself on the camera and move the blue portal away. On the camera, center yourself as shown on the video, so that you are almost falling to the front of the camera, and centered. Now do the following looping until two conditions are satisfied:
UNTIL (( the height when you come out of the blue is close to 24 ) AND ( the second angle is a multiple of 90 (180,90,0,-90,-180) depending on your orientation) ): DO:

Step 5.1: Adjust the angular height (pitch, 1st angle on the showpos) to get a different value of height after passing the blue portal. In the video, if I move up the mouse, it will increase the value of the height after passing the blue portal, and if I move down the mouse, it will decrease the value of the height. You can modify your sensitivity if needed.

Step 5.2: Adjust the yaw (2nd angle on the showpos) to be a multiple of 90 depending on the map orientation. In the video example, it is -180 and 0 because I am shooting along the X axis positively (and -180 = 0 yaw). If I was shooting along the X axis negatively, it would be 180. If I was shooting along the Y axis, it would be either -90 or 90.

Step 5.3: Shoot a blue portal uncrouched, read the value "height after passing the blue portal" that is the third "pos" value in the showpos

Remark 2: After finishing the loop of step 4, you should have an orange portal as low as possible. A blue portal so that when you are centered on the camera, almost falling to the front, passing through the portal makes your Z-coordinates (ground height) - 45.

Step 6: Look straight down. Align your yaw with the portal. Here, I shot the portal to the yaw = 0; so I aligned myself with yaw = 0.

Remark 3: Make a hard save.

Step 7: Strafe (strafe right in the video) to fall (no other inputs required, don't crouch, don't jump, don't do anything). Then immediately after, lightly tap the opposite strafe (strafe left in the video) to be centered. Then, release all inputs. If you get ejected at 24 height, then it should work. You can give it 5 tries with a save. If you don't get it in 5 tries in a row, you missed something.


Remark 4: Most of these lineups are not THAT precise to the hundreths of degree, but it is better to showcase the method to do it as I don't have enough data to say in which range it works.

Remark 5: I also wanted to do some test maps in Hammer to see how it goes as a playaround map; I think it is a fun mechanic.

Remark 6: If you read remark 5 and you are myself from year 2040 and I didn't do the map in Hammer, well then frick you.
