An alleged porch pirate in Orange County is getting a lot of attention online — not just for what she’s accused of stealing, but for the unusual way she leaves the scene.
Multiple surveillance videos appear to show the woman walking up to homes carrying a box, swapping it for a package that was actually delivered, and then casually walking away. But there’s one detail people keep noticing: she skips away afterward.
That signature move has earned her the online nickname “Skippy” — or, as Matt Austin prefers, “The Skipping Bandit.”
At least one alleged victim says the theft is about more than losing a package, raising concerns about what could happen if a homeowner or child opened the door during one of these encounters.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating as more videos of the alleged porch pirate circulate online.
