Anyways, on a more serious note, the meaning of this song hit pretty close to home for me. I know I say thank you a lot, but I wanted to say how much I appreciate you guys for giving me this safe space where I can proudly embrace who I am. I dont talk about my struggles with gender identity openly here a lot, but I honestly am really proud of how far Ive come in terms of acceptance and growth. I had that first moment of realization when I was in high school, and only recently have I started to address the topic with people outside of my immediate friend group. It took me 7 years to fully understand and embrace it - but Im really happy with who I am today.
Building this community has brought me so much joy. Ive been through a lot in this past year that obviously I wont dump about, but coming home and being able to chat with you guys and embrace my passions through singing really just makes me so happy.
I also wouldnt be able to be so loud and proud without the support of my closest friends. Theyve always been my biggest cheerleaders and Im so grateful to have them in my life.
Thank you guys for loving and supporting me exactly as I am. I hope to make your days just a little bit brighter. I am proud to exist. Happy Pride :P
