Pope Leo XIV is calling the Church to stand beside families suffering from the devastating effects of addiction, violence and poverty.

Calling the family the “domestic Church,” the Pope emphasized the importance of strong families, compassionate accompaniment and cooperation between faith, science and public health.

“May the Church be the family of all those left by the roadside,” Pope Leo said.
