Pope Leo XIV has appointed three historians from Italy, the United States and Poland to the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences.
The Vatican body, founded in 1954, promotes the study of Church history and the preservation and scholarly use of the Holy See’s archival heritage. The new appointments continue a historical mission with roots stretching back to Pope Leo XIII.
