Here's the reason everyone's making a big deal out of Pope Benedict XVI resigning. According to the Prophecy of the Popes given 900 years ago by Saint Malachy, the 12th century bishop of Armagh in Ireland. He lists 111 Popes, then one that 'occupies' the seat - Peter the Roman, who will nourish the sheep in many tribulations; when they are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people.
