At the palace’s threshold, Ming confronts a gatekeeper’s demand: she must prove her royal bloodline. Putting her integrity on display, she reveals the crest engraved on her chest, presenting it as incontrovertible proof of her lineage. The guards relent, and she is allowed to pass. Seth and Jansen accompany her onward, each carrying the weight of their own doubts, each aware that beneath the outward calm lies a storm of intrigue.
