Ready for a gigantic pmv? This is one of two cartoons I ponified for Bronycon 2014, the first episode of Gravity Falls!
SPOILERS! WATCH THE VIDEO BEFORE READING THE DESCRIPTION!
This one was a blast to work on. It took me less than a week to build this, once I got my act together, and I've never gone that fast before! Out of all my choices for shows to do, this one was easily my favorite and I'm glad it flowed so well.
The cast I pulled directly from the intro Mr. ShinyObject created, so I didn't have as much work on my hands preparing this one. I think that if I were casting it myself, I'd have done one or two things differently. Big Mac as Soos does fit the role very well, but his lack of scenes made it somewhat difficult to use him properly. Twilight and Pinkie fit their roles to a tee, but something feels a little off with Trixie as Stan. Not sure who'd I have gone with instead... but for those casting choices I did make:
Cranky as the Zombie boyfriend came about because I needed someone who spent a lot of time with Pinkie but I hadn't used yet for her flashbacks in the beginning. It wasn't until after I started working with him that I realized how well he lip-syncs to that particular voice.
The breezies playing the gnomes was obvious in hindsight, but I almost cast the crusaders and other fillies in the role instead. I was halfway through the video before it hit me like a ton of bricks and suddenly no one else could play the part.
Tirek and the changelings might seem odd, but I needed something to represent the gnomes that were being thrown in the action scene. Everything else came from trying to explain how they are connected to the Breezies.
I want to thank Eldonde, DisneyFanatic2364, Bridleway462gha, and Geo Wiz once again for helping me make the commercials. Was anyone wondering why so many artists were doing the same thing recently? They were the hardest part of this project to keep secret but easily the best part of the whole thing. Thanks again guys!
And as ever, I do not own My Little Pony or any audio and video used here, but I do own this blue trucker hat. I got it from this souvenir place on my last vacation. Looks good on me, no?
