My thoughts on the thoroughly complex and obtuse zombie horror novel by Tony Burgess. The novel was original released in 1998 and it will likely re-define your views on the sub-genre because it itself acts as much as a thematic study of human interaction, both physical and mental, as it does a supernatural horror. While overly opaque to the point of narrative confusion the plot is fascinating, has deep meaning, and is downright bizarre to the point where you'll have trouble putting it down. This is definately a book that a reader will get more out of a second...or third time. While not my favorite novel as it strays a bit too far int othe experimental for my liking it's ideas and linguistic-base is more than enough to warrant a recommendation for eager fans of the movie or those willing to travel outside the norm.
