A drive down Mission Blvd in Pomona where many of the street lights have been changed out from high pressure sodium to induction-fluorescent lamps. Unlike nearby City of Brea which went with a "New Jersey" styled full cutoff fixture; Pomona decided to go with the classic "cobra-head" styled fixtures with semi-cutoff drop lenses.

Mission Blvd is the first major street through the city to be retrofitted with the new lights. The white light produced and the semi-cutoff optics brought back the old mercury vapor days but with longer lamp life and higher efficiency.
