Throughout the many decades, Gran Turismo has stood as one of the biggest franchise both in the racing genre and within Sony's own Playstation ecosystem, with some of them almost rivaling titles like Grand Theft Auto in sales alone. Yet even with the many adoration and fans that follows, the Gran Turismo series has always had a weird relationship when it comes to the spinoff titles. As they seem to get significantly less coverage, so here we are 25 years later with the question of whether they were successful, interesting or brought new insight to the franchise and Polyphony's development cycle.
