Police are asking for help figuring out what happened before a youth football coach was shot in front of his players over the weekend. That coach was one of two men shot after a game on the northwest side.

The football field at Cardinal Ritter High School hosted a playoff game Saturday night for two D1 Nation youth football teams in the 11 and under age division (6th grade). Two men were shot after the game around 10:15 p.m. One man shot is Travon Smith, a coach with the Indy Firehawks youth football team. The other man shot may be a coach for the opposing team, Next Level Elite. Police are investigating the possibility that two guns were involved.
