POLARIZED: A music that was inspired by a sunset photograph; This summery melodic Chillout will take you into a smooth but not so static musical journey where breezy modern Electric Piano drives the rhythm along with soft and subtle ambience and harmonies played with an iconic synthesizer from the early 2000s. Slick ambient guitar lines color the soundscape with enjoyable yet quite relax-able melodies. And in the middle of the music, a dedicated acoustic section came in to break all the electronic commotions where a warm nylon acoustic guitar and intimate piano solo joins the fray in this coastline-esque sonical bliss.

Music Backstory: "Polarized" was inspired by a photograph that I took with my new camera (Canon EOS R-50) in the coastline of Manado, where the afternoon breeze was soothing and the ocean waves were smooth as silk. During the photo session, I was testing out a physical cam filter which is called “Circular Polarizer” filter, which is a type of filter that is commonly used by landscape photographer to control the reflections of a light source (especially the sun), to darken the skies and enhance the blue color of it, also to add more saturation in the photograph. The result is the photograph that I used for this music's thumbnail and music cover as well as the first sunset video recording (the second sunset video recording also uses the same camera & lens and filters but on a different date and location.)
Music Notes:
- This music was almost 100% made with only hardware & actual musical instruments instead of virtual instruments like in the previous track “Graduality”. Almost every sound source you are hearing from “Polarized” is either from guitars/electric piano/synthesizers that are played and recorded with live performance or drum machines and SFXs sampled from sound modules.
- One of the instruments that was hardest for me to play and record for this music is the Oberheim Viscount Minigrand piano module connected to a Yamaha Reface CP, you can hear it playing the melody in the “acoustic section” at 1:46 mark. Even though It’s not a complicated melody, but I’m not a great piano player and the challenge was capturing the “intimate” vibe with the desired dynamic and feel from the piano module (it’s one of the best piano modules IMHO).
