Played on an original N64 (PAL) cartridge and recorded via high-speed USB capture, I show what I think to be the ultimate strategy vs. Mewtwo on R-2 mode when he's armed with the powerful Amnesia move! No legendaries needed here!!... strategy v2.
Continuing on from my first upload on this...
Pokémon: You'll need 1x Electrode with Thunder Wave and Explosion, 1x Raticate (could even use Rattata lol) with Super Fang, and a Rhydon with Earthquake. It's as simple as 1,2, 3 4...
1. Electrode goes out first an uses Thunder Wave on move 1 then without hesitation;
2. Use Explosion! If you get a Critical Hit you can skip stage 3. Electrode will now have K.O'd himself.
3. Get out Raticate and use Super Fang (cutting Mewtwo's remaining health in 1/2). Mewtwo will now 1-hit-KO Raticate. This is the ONLY Pokémon that Mewtwo has the chance of K.O'ing lol
4. Now using Rhydon, who has a 130 base Attack power and uses the powerful Earthquake (150 power (with STAB boost)) will ALWAYS finish off Mewtwo R-2 extremely quickly. I've even speedrun this and got the whole thing done in around 90 seconds if the Explosion causes a Critical Hit, it's that quick and flawless.
The formula for winning this is that your Pokémon ALWAYS get to go first thanks to the Thunder Wave. and causing huge amounts of physical damage very quick negating Mewtwo's Amnesia and speed ;) If Electrode's Explosion causes a Critical Hit and leaves Mewtwo with anything under 120 health (100% of the time with a decent trained Electrode) then you can just skip Raticate and the Super Fang and go straight into an Earthquake from Rhydon, Mewtwo R-2 = toast, that easy :)
To anyone having any trouble and want to finish him off ASAP, I challenge anyone to come up with anything just as effective, and fast. Btw there are many ways out there if you experiment, hope this helps :) If anyone has any super-easy Mewtwo R-2 techniques please share them and I'll try and make a video of it. Thanks everyone!
