"Flawless Platinum" is a difficulty hack similar to Drayano's "Renegade Platinum". But where "Renegade Platinum" succeeds in offering a fair challenge, "Flawless Platinum" takes the original game and breaks it. Like most broken difficulty hacks, the game's idea of challenge is to create an environment where you're always under leveled. Cheap tactics like status moves landing 9/10 times are in full force as both the player and the CPU can abuse them, creating an unbalanced mess.
The CPU Pokemon seem to be weaker than my trained Pokemon despite the CPU being at higher levels. I'm assuming that the majority of the CPU Pokemon don't have IV's but even this seems to be inconsistent. Some Pokemon are sturdier than others. I'm not talking about the Legendary Pokemon. Random Pokemon who's stats have not been buffed seem to take hits better than some of the Legendary Pokemon.
Several Pokemon have been buffed with many now having different types, abilities and moves. Furret's attack & speed have been buffed to 100. Furret can hit nearly as hard as Feraligatr & Aerodactyl & can also outspeed many of the CPU's Pokemon that are supposed to be faster than it, making this challenge far easier than it should have been. Several moves have also been buffed & changed to be more effective, like Strength now being a Rock type move instead of a Normal type move with 80 base power.
I hate criticizing other people's hacks. I know how much time & work goes into making a ROM hack, especially when Generation 4 is the base. I say skip this one & play "Renegade Platinum" instead for a much more consistent & fair challenge.
