As you can see from the date for this video (in case you didn’t know, the date I put on these videos indicate the day of the most recent clip in that video), this would be the last video for Season M-A. Season M-2 would immediately follow this one. I will have the same teams and same trainer look, but I will continue to make revisions as needed. With no difference in available Pokémon and hold items though, said changes will be minimal.

Opponent’s Pon: Slowbro (Galaan), Sneasler, Delphox, Corvid19 (Corviknight)
Delphox has been one of the more hyped of the new Mega Evolutions. It gets increased Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed, and unlike with Mega Meowstic, they all reach Flutter Mane levels or higher (except for being one point slower in Speed—and because Mega Manectric is Flutter Mane’s equal in Speed, that also means Mega Manectric is faster than it). Levitate may be a pretty straightforward Ability, but it also nullifies one of Delphox’s weaknesses.
For the record, Galarian Slowbro’s Quick Draw allows it to go first in its priority bracket 30% of the time. With a Quick Claw, that goes up to 44%. A very nice Ability to have on something so slow, but it’s hard to plan for that.
Corviknight’s nickname of “Corvid19” is a pun on the COVID-19 virus and “corvid,” an adjective used to describe crows and ravens (and bluejays).

Opponent’s Pokémon: Pelipper, Archaludon, Incineroar, Sneasler
Their lineup is as competitive standard as it gets, while mine is mostly off the beaten path. Of course, I always felt that more important factors are what Pokémon you pick in Team Preview and how well you can predict your opponent and make the correct decisions each turn.
My opponent seemed to accurately know that I was not going to have Rigel (Manectric) attack Pelipper, as otherwise, that was a big risk in using Tailwind the first turn, even if it had a Focus Sash attached.
One thing they did not predict, it seems, was Rigel’s Lightning Rod activating, as I switched back to him the same turn they switched back to Pelipper and had Archaludon use Electro Shot. Besides me being in Ultra Ball Tier Rank 2, that might have been the first sign that I was not going to be an easy win for them.

Opponent’s Pokémon: Froslass, Vanilluxe, Abomasnow, Ditto
My opponent has the title of “Ice-Type Gym Leader,” and they really fulfilled that aspect by bringing in three Pokémon with Snow Warning (Vanilluxe, Abomasnow, and Froslass via Mega Evolution), missing only Aurorus, which I brought in. Because snow emables Ice-type Pokémon to take half damage from physical attacks, this makes this bunch more resilient than they look, despite lsing their Mega Evolution on the first turn.
It’s annoying when Ditto copies the fastest Pokémon on the field, as the game then decides randomly whether the original or the copy will go first. Not a problem when it copies Rosalyn (Roserade), as it doesn’t have the extra factors needed to go ahead of others, but when it copies Rigel after Mega Evolving, it becomes a coin flip, on top of effectively giving the opponent two Mega Evolutions. (I can confirm this Ditto does not have a Choice Scarf because Vanilluxe has one.)

Opponent’s Pokémon: Slowking, Sneasler, Banette, Skeledirge
I realize that my team is in quite the minority in the Ultra Ball ranks that does not use Fake Out. (And in turn, Fake Out comes mainly from five Pokémon: Incineroar, Sneasler, Kangaskhan, Lopunny, and Tinkaton, in descending order of how often I see them.) Even this team, full of unconventional Pokémon, also has Sneasler in it. (And Skeledirge, to a lesser extent, though it’s not as common in Champions as it was in Scarlet and Violet.)
An interesting interaction to me was when Magic Bounce kicked in when Mega Banette used Will-O-Wisp on Abner as Mega Absol, considering Dark-types should not be affected by Prankster-boosted status moves. It could be the game checks for Magic Bounce before the Dark-type.
This battle took me to Master Ball Tier in Season M-A 1, just in time. And on a technicality, based on the exact rules on how Destiny Bond works.
