This marks the end of Season 1 in Pokémon Champions, though I still have some more matches to put up here and there, so what I would have for Season 2, that’ll turn up later. It won’t add in any new Pokémon though—that won’t happen until that season ends in June. It’ll be entirely up in the air which ones will be added though; as far as I know, none have been announced. (But I wonder if Pawmot is a priority due to it being on the main menu.)

Has anyone seen this before? It looks like a glitch where someone rage quit and left the game unable to do anything but run out the timer, resulting in a draw one turn before I could make a winning move. All in all, this match lastd about 22 minutes, during which I even went to the bathroom when the game was stuck in “Communicating…” status.
It was also preceded by the opponent timing out sending out Pelipper towards the end, suggesting they had already disconnected by then.

My strategy with Forrest (Forretress), at this point, had come pretty close to its current state. Originally, I began with how people used Forretress back when it was considered one of the strongest Pokémon in the series (those of you who joined the series later, yes, Forretress was a top competitive pick all the way until around Generation IV): deploy a lot of entry hazards, Rapid Spin to remove ones from the opponent, use Explosion to clear Forretress out of the way for the rest of the team to come in. I think the biggest thing making Forretress irrelevant at that point was the rise of the pick-3 rules for single battling, which both made switching less common and a “suicide lead” less viable.
This Forretress is now more about direct fighting and attacking, with ways to handle Fire-types coming its way (well, one of them at least). Would be so nice to get better counter-type moves though.
Now, Archaludon is here to do in single battles what Forretress used to do: set up entry hazards and maybe inflict Paralysis. It has Stamina to make it really hard for physical attackers to fight it, higher stats overall, and weaknesses in primarily physical hitters (Ground and Fighting). As a result, it has more generally favorable matchups than Forretress.
With the right moves though, Forretress can be a real menace.

Opponent’s Pokémon: Glaceon, Sylveon, Umbreon
Well, this person has amassed quite the collection: it’s an all-Eeveelution team, and they’re all shiny. I don’t know how legitimately obtained this team is, just that I remember a proliferation of all-shiny teams in Scarlet and Violet because of certain under-the-table websites making under-the-table transactions. They could be like Penny! Or rather, Penny dotes on them; I don’t think Penny would ever get her darlings from the black market.
That Umbreon could get really annoying though, with Wish, Protect, and Leftovers. My strategy became to hold on long enough for Sludge Bomb to inflict Poison: Umbreon would have either Inner Focus (irrelevant in this matchup) or Synchronize (Victoria, or Victreebel, can’t be Poisoned in tis way due to already being a Poison-type).

My Pokémon: Rex (Tyrantrum), Shirley (Meowstic) (Female), Dolores (Basculegion) (Female)
Opponent’s Pokémon: Dragapult, Venusaur, Torkoal
Rex (Tyrantrum), when sufficiently powered up, can plow through even Mega Venusaur! Matches like these allow him to really live up to his Pokédex entries about how no other Pokémon could challenge a Tyrantrum during its own time.
