On the way out of Castelia the man we saw in the sewers asks for a battle on Route 4, so head that way.
The breeder can be rebattled, as I do remember fighting her in the previous part and test it by leaving and coming back.
Afterwards we meet up with the man. He uses a device to scare off some Crustle that are blocking the road, and then we battle. His identity is kind of hidden right now, we only know him as a Pokémon Trainer (who we can assume was doing nothing suspicious in the sewers with Team Plasma about). His team are all Steel types, something to remember for next time.
I investigate the small path to the W first and get a Watchog here, so remove the Exp. Share. I give it Rock Smash and Strength. You'll see that between games the desert area has finished construction of some houses, with more construction under way.
In the SW you'll find a Mandibuzz with an overworld sprite (or Braviary in White 2). I was surprised that Flaaffy knocked it out, given how bulky Mandibuzz can be. Braviary is a decent pick up for the Gym after the next, and it can surpisingly learn Rock Slide and Shadow Claw as well as the still fairly common Close Combat and U-Turn, so a bit more coverage than the usual Normal/Flying types.
Battle everything on the way to the house next to the vending machine and use that to heal up. Head through to the Desert Resort and battle the trainers and find the items there. Like with BW1 you can have limited access to Relic Castle now, and picking up the Rock Tomb can be worth it.
Now leave and head on through to the newly added Join Avenue.
Some of the features here can be useful for PWT, especially the Dojo which can train you in 32 EV increments when fully maxed out, but more importantly increase specific IVs (all at a cost of course) meaning you can have max stat potential Pokémon. There's also a raffle with the potential to win extra Master Balls.
I don't do much with Join Avenue, it's something to be done over a long period of time, and more specifically after beating the Pokémon League when it begins expanding more.
Head through to Nimbasa City and join up with the male protagonist of BW1
in a double battle against the Subway Bosses. I heal up and end the part.
