Designing For is a series which looks at one specific level, character, or idea in gaming and breaks down the central theme to that element to figure out what it's, well, designing for! In this episode, we look back at the original journey to be the very best, and the trainer that players walked with to climb to that plateau! But while Pokemon Trainer Red was a neat player character, it's what he represents for the Pokemon franchise - that initial champion for all others to not just aspire to be, but be better than - that makes him truly a Pokemon Master.
