Upon beating the game you're able to go challenge Professor Oak in the Unknown Dungeon and his team is very high levelled. The game offsets this by making Chansey a common encounter on every floor (the last floor has them between Lv. 80-100) to grind levels off of.
You're also able to access a room at the Pokemon League you couldn't before where you are able to defend your title as Champion against every Gym Leader, E4 and your Rival who will come at you with revamped teams of 6 and the option of different music. The fights happen one at a time with healing, the order of opponents does not change and you are allowed to stop, change/grind your team up and resume where you left off so it's not a guantlet/boss rush. Upon completing this you can rematch any of the opponents you fought for EXP/Money.
Pokemon Pure Red (and Green, and Blue) is a hack of Pokemon Red, Green and Blue made by Vortyne. It's an enhancement hack that brings a host of changes to which version of Gen 1 you choose to play with the most noteworthy ones for combat being that many Pokemon have had their typings changed (Doduo for example is Flying/Ground), many moves have had their types/effects changed (Swift, Flash, Wing Attack, Comet Punch and Sonic Boom are all different typed variations of Quick Attack) and several new attacks have been added to the game ala Brown/Prism. CPU Trainer levels have been raised, you have the option to have CPU Trainers gain DVs, there are more trainers and there are tangible rewards to completing the Pokedex (and you can get all 151 in the game) such as the Exp.
