So as I finished the 11th episode of Pokemon 1019 aka Pokemon Sword & Shield (why haven't they just called it that officially idk...) and like always, or most of the time, I watch the preview of the next episode and I saw this.....my boi Lance and the series new commer Leon! Appearing in the next episode and having a champion's battle! I am so excited!!!

Pokemon Gold version was my first Pokemon game so to me, Lance will always be the first champion in my book. Somehow having your rival be the champion as seen in Pokemon Blue/Green, Red, Yellow, LeafGreen and FireRed doesn't feel as cool. You know you will beat "Ass-face" like you did a few times during the game already.

No. Lance for me was a hard battle, that is until I learned that dragon-types were weak against ice and ironically, dragon types.

20 years later, Leon was a piece of cake for me but by now, I've learned all the type advantages in the Pokemon universe. Not discrediting Leon's validity as a champion but to me, he doesn't hold a candle to what Lance.

It's ironically very fitting that I used a song by Queen since the Galar region is based on the U.K.

I have not seen Lance since the Johto Journies episode when they were investigating the Lake of Rage and I'm happy that he caught the Red Gyarados.
