A Kaizo mod of Dark Rising Girl's Dark Rising game. Changes include.
-Some dialogue changes, as in, I didn't change everyone's dialogue because no.
-Attempts at bug and glitch fixing. There should be no unwinnable situations apart from bad matchups with hard bosses. If there is, inform me IMMEDIATELY, and I'll get to that immediately.
- Attempts at correcting Grammer and Spelling. Chances are, either I missed some or unintentionally made some. Feel free to make a long list of spelling and grammer that I may have missed. I'll get to fixing that when there's 30 mistakes, because I am not going to spend so much time updating for one little error.
-Lowered some evolution levels. Mostly Unova Pokemon that evolves in the late 40s early 50s.
-Added much more diversity early on. There is some grass in most cities where you can catch pokemon.
-Most bosses that had insane base stats (AKA, Elite Four and Champion) have been lowered to the usual Legendary base stats.
-No revives or ethers will be used in battle. You can use healing items like hyper potions.
-You can no longer catch Giratina. You'll fight it though... at the end.
-Some boss fights have been removed.
-Rival Bosses don't ambush you mostly.
-You can purchase evolution stones fairly early on.
-You can purchase TMs early on starting at Aroma Path, after the second badge.
-Many map edits, mostly for atmosphere, mostly to differentiate from being too similar to Firered. Except Spirit Tower. I got lazy there because there's not much to the map. Only one truly Kaizo area is located in the Desert. Stock up for that desert, its like hanging out in Death Valley.
- Level curve was adjusted to not have level spikes. I leveled up a varied team of 10 Pokemon without fighting wild pokemon, so there should not be mandatory need to grind, though let's be honest. You guys tend to grind anyway.
-Movepools are mostly unchanged. Including levels of movepools. If you don't like the moves, buy the TMs.
- The enemy bad guys have their rosters completely overhauled to have... anything really. They have numbers because it keeps me sane and alive during editing. If anyone wants to edit their rosters, you won't go insane like I did. Cultists (purple magma guys, so much edge), are the elite mooks that do double battles. Always.
-Make sure to have a full party at all times. At least 2 pokemon alive. Some bosses and every cultist will double battle you, and if you have only one mon, instead of just being stomped, it does weird in battle glitches.
-Chanseys will heal you. They are scattered throughout the land. You get break rooms.
-Only one area of plot is unchanged, which is a plothole, but I cannot change it, I don't know how, I spent a week trying to figure how to change that, its in that doduo game house with the Lostelle sidequest. If anyone knows how to change that, let me know ASAP.
-Some move animations, I don't know how to trigger the second turn move, (makes Gen 2 and 1 BETTER in that aspect of editing), so they are replaced by other move animations. At least it looks a little better than the first move animation.
-"Stealth Rock" is gone, rock tomb is back, mud shot is now earth power, as a single target ground move for double battles.
-Dark Chaos is no longer broken. Its 100 BP, with a roughly 35% chance of chaotic confusion.
-Dark Void is in the game because Darkrai is an enemy to face.
- Some evil elite four members (OK actually Dark Knights), may have SOME illegal moves, but only some. They are bad guys after all. Bonus boss Wobbuffet has cosmic/rest set, beating that bonus boss gives you a chance to get Kyogre.
-Atem's sprite is changed.
- The main villain of the game is far more prevelant, possessing boss trainers called "DARUGIS HOSTS." Eyecatcher has an eye.
...
- Boss Fights. If you don't come prepared with a good team and good moves, you won't be happy. Be especially cautious of Light boss fights. (The Lance lookalike). Villains are the ones that like to ambush you.
-I'm not joking. Some villain bosses do use Legendaries, and they do not pull punches. It is a steep powercurve, and by the end of the game, you will fight some ubers. Try to get some legendaries, or get a bunch of Pokemon.
-If that desert gives you issues, take a look at my longest Dark Rising Video, it has the solution to navigate.
- Numassity City is gone for good. And don't try to fly into it, and don't try to edit either Numassity Maps. YOU WERE WARNED.
- Try not to backtrack without using Fly. After playtesting, I can't tell when and where the flags reset or not. Especially after you beat the game, some flags reset.
- Dark Rising Sidequest: No PC until Pax town boss is bested. No Millenium town without getting cut at the end. That's it so far.
-UPDATE: NO COTTONEE IN DARK RISING KAIZO, BUT WHIMSISCOTT IS AVAILABLE AND WON'T BREAK THE GAME.
