TheZZAZZGlitch | Pokemon Blue: Obtaining "8F" item a lot easier @TheZZAZZGlitch | Uploaded April 2013 | Updated October 2024, 5 days ago.
* Thanks to Torchickens for giving me the starting idea for this method.
More about 8F and what it allows to achieve here: forums.glitchcity.info/index.php/topic,6638.0.html
This newly found method exploits 4 different glitches:
- Ditto's Cooltrainer move, which behaves like a Super Glitch move, but does not corrupt the player's name and/or Pokemon,
- Safari Zone walk through walls glitch (known also as Safari Zone no-clipping glitch),
- An undocumented oversight, where entering a map connection from a corner causes the game to render a glitch city depending on RAM contents,
- An invalid encounter flag for the glitch Pokemon "99" (hex F1), causing the game to add 16 to the identifier of the fourth slot in the player's bag,
and merges them together, to obtain 8F a lot easier, without any side effects, and without any horribly restrictive requirements.
