Starting yet another project here, Pokemon 64, A reimagining of the classic soundtrack from the first Pokemon game using sound samples from Golden Eye 007 and Super Mario 64.
As there was never a proper pokemon game for the Nintendo 64, I've always wondered what a soundtrack to such a game might sound like. So for the sake of nostalgia for something that never existed and morbid curiosity, here's what I think Pallet Town may have sounded like in such a game.
I used sound samples from existing N64 games (super Mario 64 and Goldeneye specifically) and stuck fairly close to the original with some additional percussion to give it a more... "3d" feel.

![Those Four Chords [Synthwave style chiptune / Sega Genesis sounds]
I wanted to play around with one of the most generic and cheesy chord progressions, Am, F#, C, G, but with a twist, so all of the chords are 7th chord variations, and the melody and bass line contain many bluesy notes outside of the standard Am scale.
Also some variations on the chord progressions start with the C chord, essentially forming a subtle key change to C major.
An experiment in creating a warm, 80s synth style texture, focusing mostly on the progression of the chords.
Choppy tuney, day 23.
