If you see yourself across the maps, please comment with the timestamps - everyone's characters scattered across the maps became something I'd look forward to seeing as I played, and a point of reference even for some jumps (until they moved, in one notable instance).
By far the longest I've spent on an individual challenge in a game. Passing the Exam took me 67 hours of play since late Jan 2025 (plus some time attempting it before giving up in Feb 2023).
I had originally put off going for Legend because I didn't think I could make the time investment required. With two kids, and a bunch of other demands on my free time, I couldn't really accept using my limited gaming time on just one task.
In mid-January though, I realised how much time I could carve out for myself if I set my mind for it. I set requirements to myself:
• If I don't have at least 30 mins of guaranteed time, don't play the game.
• No playing more than 2 hours at a time; don't want burn out.
• Make sure I'm doing something "productive" in parallel, to make up for the time being used.
I decided to listen to something in Japanese as my 'productivity in parallel'. I tried listening to Japanese news, but got tired of hearing about American politics. I found YUYUの日本語Podcast [youtube.com/@yuyunihongopodcast], which has been great - thank you for the many hours of background listening.
Even though I know I'm one of the slower clearers (276h total) compared to many of the talented people in CE, I'm incredibly proud of sticking to the schedule I set out, and for seeing it through.
