Poetry in the Garden, held each spring, is a series of live performances is set among the Getty Center’s Central Garden. This year features poetic and musical collaborative soundscapes inspired by the publication "The Scores Project: Experimental Notation in Music, Art, Poetry and Dance 1950-1975," informed by mid-century experimental artists in the Getty Research Institute’s archives like Yvonne Rainer, John Cage, and Benjamin Patterson.

Megan Dorame is a Tongva poet indigenous to the Greater Los Angeles area. She holds a BA in anthropology and Native American studies from the University of Oklahoma, and has been the recipient of fellowships from PEN Emerging Voices and Indigenous Nations Poets. Her work has appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The Offing, Yellow Medicine Review, and the Netflix series, City of Ghosts. She lives and writes in Santa Ana, California.
M.A. Tiesenga is an interdisciplinary artist exploring collaboration, sound, and performance through analogies to cartography and collage. Working as a composer, visual and sound artist, improviser, and multi-instrumentalist, Tiesenga integrates expanded notation and improvisation. Collaborations include the LA Phil, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Wild Up, Long Beach Opera, and international ensembles.
