For many women, mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early (when itโ€™s easiest to treat).

There are both screening and diagnostic mammograms. Screening mammograms are quick โ€” they take about 15 minutes.

The exact timing of your first mammogram is a personal decision. Your doctor can advise you when to get a mammogram based on your medical and family history.

Most women at average risk should get a mammogram every two years between the ages of 40 and 72.

To get started with breast screening, talk to your doctor.
