WOOOO backstory time for Cream's parents! Almond & Cloycoat were, uh. They sure were something.

Almond & Princess Cloycoat were arranged by their respective families to marry in the future; Almond's family wanted riches, and the princess' family wanted to secure an heir. They did eventually grow to genuinely fall in love, but while Almond wanted to take things slower & argue against their families pressuring them to get together, the lonely princess dismissed & trivialised his anxieties & was more than happy to speed things along, if it meant getting a partner for life, and becoming queen faster.
