PM Modi's 'Sapt Dhara': the 7 forces that will shape India, decoded from the 80th Independence Day speech — plus the 2030 target behind each one.
From the ramparts of the Red Fort, the Prime Minister invoked "Shakti Ki Sapt Dhara" — seven streams of strength — drawing the analogy from the ancient Sapta Sindhu, and said India must accomplish in the next 5-7 years what could not be achieved in the previous 5-7 decades.
The seven streams, in the order he gave them:
1. Manufacturing Power — full domestic value chains, from components to finished products; India as a trusted hub in global supply chains
2. Agriculture & Food Processing — value addition over raw output, Indian farm products into global markets
3. Technology & Innovation — AI, space, robotics, world-class digital infrastructure
4. Gati Shakti — high-speed rail, modern highways, world-class airports, ports, waterways, multimodal logistics
5. Raksha Shakti — self-reliance in defence and a place among global defence suppliers
6. Green & Blue Economy — green hydrogen, renewable capacity, EV manufacturing
7. Soft Power — yoga, Ayurveda, culture and heritage carrying India to the world
