Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Bishkek. The leaders discussed the India-Russia special and privileged strategic partnership, bilateral trade, people-to-people exchanges and cooperation across key areas. PM Modi reiterated India’s message of peace, stressing the need to move from an “endless war” towards an “end of war.” President Putin also welcomed the opportunity to attend the upcoming BRICS Summit in New Delhi and highlighted growing trade, student exchanges and tourism between India and Russia.
