Today I'm taking you outside for a plein air study session. I'll share my current process for how I improve my understanding of values and colors in the landscape, particularly with mixing green. The landscape in Scotland during May is an ocean of vivid color, which can be beautiful but overwhelming. I go outside to study as often as I can, because I've learned that photos don't tell the whole truth. I encourage you to give it a try, no matter where you live or what time of year it is!
