Scottish Landscape Artist, Scott Naismith demonstrates how he works outdoors with acrylic paint.
I've put together this first part to give an insight into my prepared supports, colours and palette I took with me on my trip to Kilfinan House on the Cowal Peninsula of the West of Scotland. Some of the results are there to be seen, but you can catch part 2 to see me on site. Although all the colour mixing demonstrated here is done with a palette knife, most of the mixing on site is done with brushes. I don't tend to pre-mix with acrylics like I might due with oils because of the quick drying time.
