PlayStation State of Play returns September 3, 2026 — so it’s officially prediction time!

With a new State of Play followed immediately by State of Play Japan, there are plenty of possibilities for PlayStation’s next major round of announcements, trailers, gameplay reveals, updates, and surprises.

In this video, I’m breaking down my predictions, hopes, expectations, and a few wild cards for the September 2026 State of Play double feature.

The main State of Play will feature updates from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners and conclude with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation. State of Play Japan will then spotlight games and creators from Japan and Asia.

What will actually happen?
