Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for 1000 subs. It’s a huge milestone for me, and this whole channel has been a great journey for me so far. My first video was posted about 4 years ago, and since then I’ve posted on and off purely for fun. Looking back, I’m surprised I’ve already posted over 90 videos on this channel. More recently, I’ve been experimenting/coming up with some of my own melodies and songs, and I accumulated a few melodies that I haven’t yet put into sheet music. Here are 5 of the songs that I came up with but haven’t finished yet! These are not in order of which songs I like the most, but rather just the order in which I thought the songs should be presented.
5. Forgotten Memories
This song was inspired by Omniscient Reader (one of my favorite series of all time). I created this song with the idea of honoring all the memories, people, characters, or stories that have been forgotten by the world. One main theme in Omniscient Reader is that stories and things only seem to exist when there is someone there to read it or acknowledge their existence. So I tried to capture the feeling of what happens when a story or something slowly gets forgotten over time in this song. Perhaps they still have lingering messages they want to cry out, but nobody is listening anymore.
4. Buddy Buddy
Unlike Forgotten Memories, this one is much more lighthearted and not really inspired by anything in particular. I feel like the melody sounds familiar, but I also can’t place my finger on what it sounds like. Regardless, I didn’t base this on any song, so it’s still an original song. I named the song buddy buddy because it sounds funny and it’s also an inside joke with my friends.
3. Unnamed song
This was one of the earliest melodies I created, right after I created my first song Frolick. I think it has a emotional and sad feeling to it, but I haven’t decided on a name for it yet. If you have an opinion on what this song should be called, let me know!
2. One Summer Day
This is a more typical pop song that I intend to add lyrics for, and I think it has some potential to become a real full song if I put my mind into it.
1. When I’m With You
This song was a random melody that came into my head while I was improvising, and I started creating the lyrics soon after with the help of some friends. It was inspired by yung yai’s song blue. Specifically, in the music video, it seems to be about this person who is having the time of his life with a girl, but at the end of the video, the girl fades away, implying it was all just in his head (as if he was just daydreaming about all the prior scenes).
