Ideations for environmental design follow the same process as product design.
1. Apply ideation techniques to environmental design. 2. Work on thumbnail ideation in your notebook and on 14x17 tracing or marker paper. 3. Use perspective sketches. 4. Use any of the following for your sketches: pen, pencil, colored pencil. Based in part on work by Prof. Robert Natata, San Francisco State University.

You never know what kind of goodies you are gonna find in those conference bags... Four books and four baby books. Thanks to my design students at San Francisco State university JC, JA, TC, and SQ (understudy for DL) for playing along; with apologies to the original book designer (barnbrook[dot]net). Limited edition of four baby books (one for each student) from original book, double-bound (perfect bound on both sides); guillotine services by FedEx Kinkos. Shot at TYPO Talks conference, San Francisco, May Day 2015. Video by Mary K. Hickox. Change is the only thing we can predict TYPO 2015](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/X7svNFWT3Vw/mqdefault.jpg)
