What's the difference between playing your character, and playing your character sheet?

Sometimes we can treat our tabletop RPG character sheets like a menu, and while that's not terrible, what if there was a different way to approach things.

On of the main things that we landed on in our video don't look at the list of actions on your RPG character sheet and THEN decide what you want to. Use your imagination to think of creative things your character would do, and then let the Dungeon Master/Game Master tell you what rules may come into play.

What would change in your game if you, as a player, think "what awesome thing can I do" rather than using your character sheet as a menu?
