Here's a playthrough of me getting platinum medals in all the levels of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos remaster. I also decided to do all boss fights without taking damage as well, since I didn't do it for all of them in my walkthrough and it is a trophy/achievement in the game.

I have to admit I didn't do a lot of practicing, I just accepted the first platinum time I got and moved on to the next level, so there's certainly a lot one could improve on in many areas. Some levels, however, are really, unfairly tight on time.

3-B2 Cactus Jack's Ranch is the toughest one to do in the allotted time. You HAVE to hit the boss before he does his first attack, BUT if you hit him slightly too early he will still do an extra attack anyway. Even when played perfectly, you'll still only be about a second away from losing platinum, so even the slightest, most insignificant of mistakes will screw you. Unless there's hidden opportunities to hit him that I don't know about.

4-B2 Baron Dante's Funky Inferno is another tough one, mostly because of the no-damage on bosses rule that I added to this. I think it might be close to impossible without straight running through the spike balls, or at least it would be if it wasn't for the existence of the hover glitch.

I was aware of the hover glitch's existence, but purposefully avoided learning it to make sure that my walkthrough and this time trial video would be as basic as possible, figuring it's not actually necessary for anything the game asks you to do.
Then at 4-4 I realized the first jump you HAVE to do in order to make it in time for platinum requires tail whipping midair to slightly increase the distance you cover, which really got me to think about the hover glitch. When the game later crashed at level 4-6 and I decided to continue recording this run the next day, the night and morning spent thinking about it made me obsess over learning the hover glitch and using it in the last couple of levels.
Only level where I really believe it might've affected my ability to get platinum is 4-B2, solely because the time is short in that level and no-damaging the run slows you down ever so slightly.

Hover glitch is pretty easy in theory, but tough to get the most out of consistently. You simply jump, tail whip and then an eye blink later jump again and hold it. The delay with the second jump isn't long enough to really think about, it's a bit like max-acting the first basic swing with Nero in DMC5. If you manage to think about it after pressing attack you'll be too late, but there still is some amount of frames you have to delay it for.
Depending on how well you time the jump, you get differing lengths of hover time. It's a really fun technique that made me want to consider speedrunning this game a little.
