The foundation of PLATFORM is this F# major hexachord ostinato. The ostinato pattern is taken from another STRAYLIGHT track - Ascent of the Juggernaut. (Can you hear where? 🤔) This long chord progression is taken from the STRAYLIGHT main theme (just titled STRAYLIGHT.) The difference here is, even though the notes are the same, the tonal center is F# whereas B is the tonic in the main theme. This is accomplished via the different inflections in the melodies of each piece. The effect being that PLATFORM feels more grounded, and the main theme feels both familiar but groundless, just like the gaming experience.
