Would you trust your life to a 3D printed plastic carabiner?
Most people would say no—and honestly, I probably should have too. But I decided to push the limits of 3D printing and put my design to the ultimate test.
Using ABS+ filament, 3 outer walls, and 100% concentric infill, I printed a carabiner that looks tough... but could it actually hold me? I loaded it with 80kg and waited for the snap. What happened next honestly shocked me.
This is not just about a plastic clip—it’s about testing what desktop 3D printing is really capable of.
⚠️ Do NOT use this for climbing or life-critical situations.
This is an experiment, not a recommendation.
