Plants might be sentient? Plants might feel pain? These claims may sound ridiculous because they're usually made disingenuously, but genuine experts in consciousness including Christov Koch and Giulio Tononi give a view of consciousness that allows for at least the possibility of plant sentience.
In this video I talk about integrated information theory, a common vegan response to plant sentience presented by Earthling Ed regarding evolution and why I don't think its a strong argument, why I don't think consciousness is subtrate-specific, the trophic pyrmaid, qualia, and the concept of credence.
