Ghost Productions provided MicroAire Surgical with a visually compelling animation that highlights the usage of the SmartRelease product in a Plantar Fascia release.
The plantar fascia is a band of tissue (fascia) that connects your heel bone to the base of your toes. It supports the arch of the foot and absorbs shock when walking. Tension and stress on the fascia can cause small tears.
Plantar fascia release surgery involves cutting part of the plantar fascia ligament to release tension and relieve inflammation of the ligament.
The SmartRelease is designed for transecting the transverse carpal ligament and fascia of the cubital tunnel, recession of the plantar fascia, and gastrocnemius aponeurosis. Comprised of an endoscope and a handpiece that holds an elongated, disposable blade assembly, the MicroAire SmartRelease System connects to any standard video camera and light source. The surgeon introduces the blade assembly into the carpal tunnel through a limited incision in the wrist flexor crease.
