Curious about Plano CERT? This video offers a look inside the training that prepares our Community Emergency Response Team members to help themselves and their community during disasters.
CERT training covers both disaster response and disaster preparedness. Participants learn hands-on response skills like fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations with instructors from Plano Fire-Rescue. Trainees also spend time in the classroom learning how to prepare before disasters happen with staff from the Plano Police Department and Plano Emergency Management.
Participants receive a certificate of completion for CERT Basic Training, a FEMA-recognized community emergency response program.
