This video is a part of the - "Create TV/Broadcast Ready Animations with Adobe Animate" series. In this series, Prof. Greg Araya from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) teaches how to create TV and broadcast ready animations with Adobe Animate. With a little preparation, you can avoid the dreaded sliding foot effect. Planning how you will do the motion ahead of time will save you from making repeated corrections at the end.
● A walk “tracks” correctly when the feet maintain their relative contact to the ground when the body moves forward..
● Setting a horizontal Guide is an easy way to create a ground plane reference.
● A tracking guide for the foot position can be made by Classic Tweening a Graphic Symbol of a simple vertical line.
● It is crucial that any Tweens on a foot position guide not have any easing.
● If a walk is designed to track correctly, you will know the distance covered in each stride as well as the amount of time it takes. With these two pieces of information, you can make a character walk perfectly from one point to another with only two keyframes and a single tween span.
● Save your incremental progress as a new file.
