Pizza Tower is a Warioland 4 inspired platformer with great emphasis on speed. Game's main mechanic is the Mach Run, which allows the protagonist Peppino to bulldoze through almost anything with ease. He can even run up walls! There's Pillar John at the end of most levels. Busting him triggers Pizza Time after which you need to make a mad dash towards the entrance of the level. You can even do an optional second lap of Pizza Time, if you're daring enough.
I've just finished all my P-rank speed runs, now it's time to upload them. P-rank is the highest rank you can achieve in Pizza Tower and unlike other ranks (that are purely based on score), P-rank has some special requirements:
- Find all three Eyeball secrets
- Find the Tower Secret Treasure
- Get an S-rank equivalent score
- Complete Lap 2
- Start a combo in the first room and keep it throughout the whole run
Contrary to popular belief you don't need all toppings for a P-rank, but getting them is highly recommended to reach the score requirement.
Oregano Desert is unique in a way that none of the toppings are in plain sight, but are instead relegated to pizzamarts. Firemouth transformation gets introduced and is unique to this level. It let's Peppino do an air dash (momentum from this can be preserved) and defeat enemies on contact. Unlike knight transformation, firemouth transformation can be lost by getting hurt.
I utilized mach launch in this run (and it's the only time I've done so). Got all the toppings this time since the score requirement is rather strict, if you ignore the optional area during Pizza Time. Fumbled at the end a bit, but overall an alright run.
