How can a Tarot spread help us see - and manifest - dynamic growth in our lives? One answer is: Read with a "Pivot Card".... Today, I demonstrate the method with my.... Three steps toward a pivot-card reading:
1) Start with a card that has immediate significance for you: e.g. your card for the day, or for the month. How is it MOVING in your life - and/or inviting movement in your life? How does this MOVING CARD name the transformation that is possible?
2) Choose a PIVOT CARD. This can be any card you’ve selected as having special, central or "large energy" significance for you. E.g. the hub of wheel of life spread; a soul card; a card that’s stalking you. Look for a striking, concrete detail in the card: something weird or provocative that catches the eye and gets you thinking about your MOVING card in new ways. [Pro tip: if you're working with the same pivot card over an extended period of time, try playing with different depiction in different decks, to keep your eye on detail fresh.]
3) Draw a third card to help calibrate the relationship between PIVOT and MOVING CARD. I call this third card THE MOVER, because it adds that last little nudge as we consider ***where and how change is possible***
