The color concept of Pink comes from a flower of the same name. It is the least favorite color of those who were polled (!)
Thanks to capitalism and fantastic marketing, pink has come to symbolize everything awesome about being female.
Until the middle 1920's, infant boys were dressed in pink as it is a washed out shade of red, and red was a very popular color for adult dudes to wear 100 years ago.
