Pigsys Retro Game Dev Tutorials | Pink ninja, music & more! - GG Shinobi Remake for Sega Megadrive & Genesis - Dev Diary No. 2 @PigsysRetroGameDevTutorials | Uploaded October 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
The second developer's diary for my unofficial, fan-made remake of the first GG Shinobi game for the Sega Megadrive/Genesis. In this one I cover:
- new pink ninja
- new upgraded 16-bit music
- level collision implemented
- new graphics for part one of the highway stage
- refined scrolling

Please note that all in-game footage was captured using the Kega Fusion emulator. Although BlastEm is more accurate, I'm having problems capturing video that way, so will continue with Kega in the meantime. I think the music sounds better in BlastEm (and will sound even more amazing on original hardware).
